Als Kind nahm sie häufig an Schönheitswettbewerben teil und machte Ballett.
In ihrer Autobiographie schreibt sie, dass sie im Oktober 1990 mit Steinen geschlagen und nach einem Football-Spiel von vier Männern vergewaltigt wurde.
Jenna versuchte in Las Vegas eine Karriere als Revuegirl zu machen, so wie ihre Mutter. Jenna wurde jedoch meistens abgewiesen, da sie nicht die benötigte Größe von 173 cm hatte.
Sie arbeitete zunächst als Stripperin und Model, bis sie 1993 ihre Porno-Karriere startete.
Im Jahre 2000 gründet Jenna Jameson zusammen mit Jay Grdina die Porno-Firma ClubJenna.
Am 16. März 2009 bringt Jenna Zwillinge zur Welt: Jesse Jameson Ortiz und Journey Jett Ortiz.
Jenna posierte für eine PETA-Kampagne gegen Leder. Auf dem Plakat ist zu lesen: "Kunstleder: Nicht echt, aber echt geil!"
